Going with the Flow and the Waves

Alston is on the verge of many things: teeth and crawling. Currently, he's a drool factory. Maybe we can bottle it for sale. He's also really into rolling around or laying on his belly and thrusting his upper torso up as if he were the mermaid, Ariel atop a rock singing about a brand new world. We've just returned from 10 days of sun and water fun. It's no wonder Alston is beginning to think he's a merman. Previous to our trip, we had been swimming a couple times a local heated swimming pool. It was the perfect warm up for a LOT of swim time in the Florida Keys.
Above is the view from my mom's condo in the keys. As the sign posted in her place suggests "If you are lucky enough to be a the beach then you are lucky enough" and that's the truth. Only a staircase way from the beach makes it pretty easy to laze around the beach, pool or tuck your self under a palm tree. Alston was super agreeable with his flying and time zone changing. Mostly, he loved swimming and hanging out with Grammy everyday.

The other bonus being able to spend my first mother's day with my mom. My mom is so cute that she made a present for me that was "from" Alston for my first mother's day. Very sweet. I love the above photo of my mom and Alston. She looks so beautiful and happy to be sharing time with us. Thanks, Grammy for hosting us in the Sunshine State!!
