Alston is showing great strength in multi-tasking already. Practicing the art of spoon usage AND complicated square root computations at the same time. Clearly, a genius is among us.Seriously, his language skills are coming along though he still seems to favor sign language and vroooming car noises. A few weeks ago he created his own sign for "hot", which seems to be in heavy rotation these days. Fascinatingly, his made up sign is very close to the actual sign for hot
Yesterday, he seemed to make some more consistent steps at parroting words when prompted but still has some ways to go. I've been working with him to communicate more. Part of me CAN'T wait for him to actually talk more effectively (thus moving past his current screeching) but then I know I'll miss the babbling baby-ness.
Alston is a numbers man currently. Love numbers. They are everywhere ya know; bottoms of book pages, on buildings, phones, remotes, doors in our building, licenses plates - OH, I could go ON and ON! He loves hanging out with me, when I working on price quotes, assuming I'll share the calculator results with him. His favorite numbers seem to be two and six which he proudly calls out when he sees them. Keep in mind he's still not even regularly saying "Dad". So, these numbers must hold a special place in his heart.
