Swim SWIM

Alston had his first swim lessons yesterday. He was pretty excited about it!

Patrick took off from work a bit early to take him. The above "pool ready" kiddo greeted Patrick when he got home.

Here is the motley swim crew here. The other 2 parent/child pairs are some of our friends from the neighborhood. So, I think it's bound to make for a fun class. The first session is 4 weeks, twice a week and then we can opt to sign-up for the 2nd session, if we want.
They blew bubbles in the water and practiced getting their ears wet. With swim noodles tied around their middles, the kids practiced floating, kicking and "ice cream" scooping the water.
Alston loved the jumping in the pool...even though he hasn't even really learned to regular jump on dry land. It's actually kinda funny to watch someone that does *know* how to jump. He tries really hard with his squirmy back thrusting motion and might catch an inch of air (though sometime he barely leaves the ground). But in his mind, he is pleased and carries a grin on his face. In the pool, Patrick had more success in coaching Alston to lean forward and fall/jump into his arms, as Alston's jumping style as a backwards flare.

Fun was had by all! By the looks of it, SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY HERE!
