Lemons DO become Lemonade!

Shoot. Sometimes things don't go the way you plan. Or even worse, sometimes bad things happen to good people. Today is a day of lemons turned lemonade.

Sadly, my friends Alicia and Reuben were victims of a petty home robbery. Luckily and importantly they were not at home at the time of this event and thus safe. I suppose it is a sign of the current economic times. Some people are desperate and will do anything to survive but none the less it is upsetting to be on the other side of such things. Upon hearing their news about arriving to see a disheveled home with missing items, Alston and I hopped in the car to keep Alicia company while she waited to file the police report.

I strongly urge everyone to take steps to safe guard your homes today, even if you think your neighborhood, house, car are safe. AND back-up your computer information and put it in a safe place, as it seems tragic to loose irreplaceable digital memories and photos of family events, etc. Alicia notes this as her biggest personal loss today.... the rest is just stuff, as she says.

Okay, so the lemonade part. Reuben came home from work and some more friends and family arrived with delicious pizza. Suddenly, it was a lovely afternoon in the backyard. Alicia and Reuben definitely handled this situation rationally and with a TON of grace. Hey, make lemondade! Even their cat managed to find some sunshine in the situation.

My other lemonade story of the day-
You'll remember a number of months ago when we were on the east coast and my longtime friend, Erin and I had plans to meet up in CT. There was big snow storm that buried our plans in 14inches of white stuff. Oh, it was a sad day...lemons for sure. Well, today Erin emailed that she has officially book travel plans to come for a visit the end of June!!! Erin, her mom and son Owen will be here to visit VERY, VERY soon. Such great news! Sometimes it takes awhile but the lemons do always turn into lemonade! I hope everyone remembers this when they are having a bad day or unfavorable situation or have just been served up their own personal lemon. One day that lemon will turn into lemonade.

My boss at work had his home broken into while they were away last weekend. They stole the camcorder with his daughter's 3rd birthday party still in it. Sad. . really. The cops said that they would take the tape out and toss it in the trash. He just wishes they would just mail it back or leave it on the front stoop.
