Pink-ish

That's right, its that time of year again!

PINK Dinner!!

This year we had the added twist of some last minute dinner "crashers"...well, not exactly crashers as Kate and Paul were invited at the last minute. This was the first time we've had interlopers join the festivities. Kate and Paul have often stated that they loved the concept of this dinner, so they knew the stakes were high when came to adding to dinner's theme. They really brought it! Literally, with a delicous pink plum-n-watermelon radish salsa. Many of you may not be familiar with the watermelon radish. It's a winter treat that looks like this:

It's quite tasty!! They also brought pink peppercorn greyhound martinis! Wow!! Pink peppercorn is GOOD!

Here is the run down on the rest of the feast...

Appetizer:
Hot Pink Beet Hummus and Taro Bread Pinwheels
Entree:
Red and White Heart-shaped Raviolis served with Pink Pancetta Cream Sauce

Red Endive and Blood Orange Salad with Pink Citrus Dressing
Dessert:
Strawberry "Cannoli" Cones

It was all quite decadent and I think we were all overly stuffed by the end. Alston may have thought we were crazy, as he made some pretty funny faces at all the pink-ness. Really, he was clearly NOT into this pink food thing though it was fun to smoosh the pink hummus wheels around a bit. Hopefully, over the years he'll come to love our silly little tradition. Till then more for us!
