This morning the sun sparkled through our window. Felt like it had been ages since there was a enough sun to create an actual beam of light to stretch across the floor. The long absence of brightness made it seem a bit magical.
Our little groundhog awoke to this glorious sun. Initially, he was struck by the incredible nature of the intense light and the band it created on the floor. He galloped joyously in and out of the light pattern. I knelt down pointing at the oddly shaped darkness on the flour, "Alston this is your shadow." He looked puzzled, he picked up his foot and smacked it down firmly. The dark splotch moved too. Very strange in deed. How did this "thing" get on him? Maybe he can shake it loose. He wiggled about some more. Truly mystified, Alston stared for a moment. Then he reached down to pull the shaded patch off of his foot. He tried to scamper it off. That didn't work, either. This shadow thing was REALLY stuck on tight. What to do?????
Ah, get distracted and run off else where.
