I'm sure anyone actually reading this is more interested in the photos. So, I'll get that out of the way right off the bat.
These photos are from a recent trip to the zoo. Sadly, my camera was out of juice so only a couple shots from the beginning, while waiting for the train and Alston's first carousel ride. He has ridden a smaller carousel at Children's Fairyland but this was the first BIG carousel. Out of the entire animal menagerie, Alston carefully choose the ostrich to ride on. The gorilla and the rhino were also top on the list.
Our little baby is definitely a little boy. Though two days ago, when we ask Alston if he was a little boy, he swiftly and determinedly replied "Bobo". Upon further inquiry, we have gathered this is not a baby or a little boy. He seems quite proud that he has made his own category for himself.
Well, what is a Bobo like...
well, this species' love of trucks, cars and trains is fierce. His sound simulations of vehicle noises is quite large and often surpasses his vocabulary at times. A good Bobo will even wave his arms, wildly mimicking the speeding movement of vehicles. Napping during car rides is difficult for Bobos as they are often enthralled by the neighboring traffic or WOW, a tunnel or bridge or skid steer loader on the side of the road. Bobos are often known to be quite social, very gregarious, active and LOUD. He does have sensitive moments though, where he'll chase little friends trying to hug them or offering nose snuggles to his mom and dad. This small child-like species enjoys climbing and jumping. Be warned a Bobo may be an apt climber on chairs, couch, or other household furnishings but often lose focus when ascending or descending a flight of stairs. They have been known to fearlessly leap from the top of staircases. Bobo caregivers should be prepared to catch flying Bobos at all times. Bobos are found primarily in an industrial area of West Oakland, though they like to visit sandy regions along the coastline.
