First Treat-Treat

Alston hit our building with our little buzzy bee neighbor, Maggie for a dry run of this trick-or-treat "thing" before making rounds in the neighborhoods. It's possible he thought we were crazy. It took a lot of persuading to put the costume back on. After much fussing he finally agreed. Thank goodness Maggie had her costume on too or he might have REALLY protested. Here are the 2 cuties holding hands while walking from door to door.

It was pretty darling to watch these 2 make a game out of knocking on the doors and then trying to say trick-or-treat. Alston shortened it to "treat" with a quick "Thak" for thank you. One neighbor spontaneously pulled together a bag of M&Ms that caught Alston's eye. Patrick gave him 2 little round candies and Alston seemed content to just hold them. After a bit of explaining about edibility, Alston cautiously ate the candy.

WOW!!!
M&Ms are awesome!!!!First taste and he was hooked. More, more, more, mmmm-more!
Here's another shot of Maggie and Alston grabbing at some candy dishes.

After honing his skills, Alston was ready to take to the streets for more TREATS!!
Alston loved cruising around in the dark though he was half expecting to see fireworks. Instead here are few things we DID see on the way:
H
Little friend, Isa dressed as their a dog named "Homer" (who is not her pet but their friend's pet)
A sad pumpkin that really touched Alston deeply. He stopped in his treat running tracks and stared at this one for a bit, repeating mournfully "Sad, Saaaad pumpkin".  (sorry the photo is a little blurry)
 Wolfy Pumpkin
Brave little Alston un-aware of extra errie house, charged up the stairs to knock on the door.
"Treat-Treat!!" he exclaimed to the dark gothic creature that answered the door. He was completely unphased by ghoulish encounter and the surprise appearance of Rorschach from the Watchmen. (in upper left of photo). We made our way up and down one little street hitting about 10 houses and then headed home blissfully happy for nite-nite time.
