A boy and his new ride!!!

This unsuspecting drowsy boy has no idea what awaits him....he's gonna be REAL happy he woke up from his nap!!!

As a random spring time surprise, we got Alston his first bicycle! We polled him to find our what color he'd like and consistently it was always blue!! So, Friday we unveiled his new ride, which was very well received!

Of course, a helmet is key and this one was a hand-me-down from our friend Jasper. Here he is getting geared up!

Alston took to it right way. He cruised around every the neighborhood pretty fluidly. You'll notice the bike has no pedals. That's because it's a strider pre-bike that is part bicycle-part Flintstone car, which is all foot-ground powered. It's so easy to pick-up by day two, he was ready to conquer the smaller ramps at the skate park.
note: jacket in the above photos is actually my jean jacket from the early 70s, which my dad embroidered! Thanks Dad for the artistry! And thanks Mom for hanging on to it for all these years!
