Last day of school!!

We escaped the last day of school without any tears! Amazing! Alston was a bit sad about saying goodbye to his favorite teacher, Kathy. During the certificate presentation by teachers, the teachers said students could collect their certificates and hug or high five or shake hands with them. Alston opted for the hand shake and then came back to sit with me, where he sat for several minutes quietly. Then he looked at me with panicked expression and said "I should have hugged her! Oh no!!!". Then he pushed through all the seated kids to give Kathy a very unexpected hug. It was pretty sweet to witness Alston realizing the amount of love and appreciation he had for his teacher.
